Take still photos from your webcam or built-in camera with permission-aware device selection. Capture, preview, and download images entirely in your browser.
- Press Start Camera and allow camera access when your browser asks. Access is only requested after you click.
- Optionally pick a specific camera, image format (PNG or JPEG), and output size (native, HD, or Full HD).
- Check the live preview, then press Capture Photo.
- Use Copy for the image link or Download to save the file. Sample shows a demo still without a camera; Clear stops the camera and removes the capture.
- Permission-aware: the camera is only requested after your click, and every denial or failure is explained with recovery steps.
- Device selection: multiple cameras are grouped into a clean picker; a camera plugged in mid-session appears without a reload.
- What you see is what you get: the capture is taken from the live preview, so there are no surprises.
- Explicit output: choose lossless PNG or compact JPEG, and native or fixed resolution.

How do I capture a photo from my webcam?
Click Start Camera and allow camera access when your browser asks. Pick a camera from the list if you have several, choose an image format and output size, then press Capture Photo. Copy copies the image link; Download saves the still as a PNG or JPEG file.
Does my webcam image leave the browser?
No. The live preview and captured still never leave your device — there is no upload and no server-side processing for this tool.
Which browsers and devices are supported?
A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari on a desktop or mobile device with a camera. Camera capture needs a secure context: the page must be served over HTTPS or localhost. If your browser hides device labels, cameras appear as generic 'Camera' entries.
What formats and sizes are available?
PNG for lossless quality, or JPEG for a smaller file. The native option keeps your camera's own resolution; the HD and Full HD presets scale the still to exactly that size.
Does this tool keep the camera on after I capture?
Yes. Stop Camera (or Clear) turns the camera off immediately and releases it, so other apps can use it. The captured still is also released when you leave the page.
