Open-Source Policy
The evidence nTropi requires before an app or library qualifies for an open-source ranking.
Qualification
A listing qualifies as open source only when it has a reachable public repository and an OSI-approved license identifier. Both pieces of evidence must remain valid when the listing is assessed, and the named product or edition must map to that repository and license. We do not treat a branded distribution as open source merely because an upstream codebase uses an OSI license.
Source Available Is Different
Publicly readable source does not automatically grant open-source rights. Source-available software is labeled separately and never appears in the Open-Source Apps or Open-Source Libraries rankings. Missing licenses, custom non-OSI licenses, public-code-only projects, and licenses that convert only in the future do not qualify.
Corrections
Editors re-check repository reachability and license evidence when material listing changes are approved. A listing that no longer qualifies is removed from its open-source ranking when the context is rebuilt.
